Question for Reflection
Are there ways we think of love that are different than how God has revealed His love to us? I welcome your comments. -Jason ![]() Last week, we talked about how Laurentian Wesleyan Church exists to invite people into a fully devoted, life-giving relationship with Jesus. This week we ask the question; "How will we accomplish this?" I believe this statement below can help guide us. Our Strategy: Centred on prayer, we will accomplish our mission by creating environments where people are encouraged to join our community, grow in their faith, serve others, be true worshippers, and share this life. ![]()
Question for Reflection
Have you ever seen the mission of the church get overshadowed by other things? How do we keep that from happening? I welcome your comments. -Jason ![]() Laurentian exists to invite people into a fully devoted, life-giving relationship with Jesus. Acts 15:19 says, "It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God." Will you commit to pray for that person (or people) who you'd love to see attend church, and more importantly, connect with Christ. ![]()
Question for Reflection
What does a "fully devoted, life-giving relationship with Jesus" look like? I welcome your comments. -Jason ![]()
Question for Reflection
What will I do as we begin 2016 to put God first place in my life? I welcome your comments. -Jason ![]() Just as the Bethlehem star led the Magi to Jesus, so too God will guide us to Jesus if we watch for His guidance. ![]()
Question for Reflection
Can you see how God has been guiding your life towards Jesus? I welcome your comments. ![]() Through the life of Joseph we see that when we honour God and His ways, God will make a way when there seems to be no way. Key verse is Matthew 1:19 (NIV), "Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly." Be faithful in honouring God when it doesn't make sense and watch what he does. ![]()
Question for Reflection
Have you ever had to choose to be faithful to what God has shown you in the Bible, even though it didn't seem to make sense in a natural sense? I welcome your comments. -Pastor Jason ![]() There is power in saying "Yes" to God. Mary shows us how by her example. "I will put aside my plans, my ways and my wants for your plans, your ways and your desires for me. That's what it means to say 'yes' to God. Just watch what He does." ![]()
Question for Reflection
Mary said "yes" to God and His plan for her. What are reasons that people say "yes" or "no" to God and His plan for them? I welcome your comments. -Pastor Jason Today we continued looking at Matthew 9:35-38 & 10:1. Jesus sees the need and asks us to do one significant thing. Pray. Do you see the harvest? How will you respond to Jesus call to pray? We apologize for the audio quality of this recording. There are a few issues near the beginning of the recording, but they are resolved as you listen. ![]()
Question for Reflection
It's so easy for our prayers to become all about us. How can we keep a balance in our prayers between praying for our needs and also praying for God to send workers into His harvest fields? I welcome your comments. -Pastor Jason Today we jump into a two part series looking at Matthew 9:35-10:1 (click reference to read). The truth and reason of Christmas isn't to be kept to ourselves, it's to be shared with others. Jesus showed us the way. "He made a way in a manger". I pray this message is of help to you and that God speaks to you today. ![]()
Question for Reflection
Is says that when Jesus "saw the crowds, he had compassion on them". Why do we sometimes "see the crowds" and not have compassion? I welcome your comments. -Jason |
